Oral Rehabilitation and Implant Dentistry
Dr. Marco Tulio Alzaga Vega is an experienced implant and restorative dentist with approximately 25 years of clinical practice. He is the founder and clinical director of COE Dental Group in Tijuana, Mexico, where he focuses on implant dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation, guided surgery, bone and soft-tissue reconstruction, and fixed implant-supported prostheses.
His approach begins with a comprehensive diagnosis. By combining three-dimensional imaging, intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, guided implant placement, and immediate provisional restorations, Dr. Tulio develops individualized treatment strategies designed to provide predictable, functional, and natural-looking results.
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP
Dr. Tulio has trained dentists from the United States and other countries in advanced implant surgery since 2013. Through international continuing education programs, including the Global Dental Implant Academy (GDIA), he has taught implant placement, immediate loading, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, guided surgery, and full-arch rehabilitation.
He has also served as a professor and instructor in implant dentistry programs in Mexico and has lectured internationally in the United States, Mexico, South Korea, the Czech Republic, and other educational forums in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Dr. Tulio is a former president of the Baja California College of Implantologists and has participated in professional organizations dedicated to advancing implant dentistry. His professional affiliations and distinctions include the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), WAUPS, and the Mexican College of Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology.
ADVANCED EDUCATION
Dr. Tulio completed advanced postgraduate education in oral implantology, implant surgery, bone regeneration, and full-mouth rehabilitation. His training included education with internationally recognized clinicians and educators in implantology, periodontal surgery, and bone reconstruction.
Throughout his career, he has continued his education in immediate implant placement, All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatment, sinus augmentation, guided implant surgery, digital dentistry, soft-tissue management, and complex implant-supported rehabilitation.
PUBLISHED AUTHOR AND DIGITAL DENTISTRY INNOVATOR
Dr. Tulio is the author of the peer-reviewed article:
“Quick Pick-Up Provisional (QPP): A Fully Digital Single-Software Workflow for Prosthetic Contour Transfer in Guided Implant Therapy.”
Published in Digital Dentistry Journal, the article introduces a fully digital workflow that integrates restorative diagnosis, guided implant placement, and immediate provisionalization within a unified digital treatment strategy.

The QPP technique reflects Dr. Tulio’s clinical philosophy: implant treatment should begin with the final restorative objective and use technology to connect diagnosis, tissue management, implant positioning, and provisional restoration.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
In 2020, Dr. Marco Tulio Alzaga Vega was recognized among the World’s Top 100 Doctors in Dentistry by the Global Summits Institute.
This lifetime achievement recognition honors dental professionals who demonstrate clinical excellence, innovation, research, leadership, entrepreneurship, and service to their communities. Honorees were nominated by their peers and selected by a professional committee, with 100 dentists representing more than 70 countries.
Dr. Tulio has also served as a dental expert witness in implant-related cases, providing professional evaluation of complex clinical situations and disputes involving dental implant treatment.
